APP Intramural Soccer Tournament
The APP intramural soccer tournament kicks off tomorrow! This is the first-ever all-APP tournament at AUIS and there is an impressive lineup of 7 teams and over 70 players participating during the month of January. Games will be on Wednesdays at 5pm and 6pm and Fridays at 1,2 and 3pm. Come on out to the AUIS soccer pitch tomorrow, January 9 @ 5:00 PM to support your favorite team!
ARCH: Archaeological Research and Cultural Heritage Club Meeting
ARCH: Archaeological Research and Cultural Heritage will hold its first meeting and plan an excursion to a nearby archaeological site on Tuesday. The meeting will take place at 3:00 PM in B-F2-02. Anyone interested in the past, prehistoric or historic, is welcome to attend.
Film Series – Spartacus
Dr. Elizabeth Campbell will be hosting a series of films on Tuesday afternoons in B-G-09. Students are welcome to join for this week’s showing of the movie Spartacus. Everyone is welcome to bring their lunch and watch the film. Spartacus is a story of a slave revolt in ancient Rome based on fact, with plenty of battle scenes. This film will be shown in two parts: on Tuesday, November 6 and Thursday, November 8 at 12 pm.

Mock Presidential Debate
Come hear AUIS students represent the views and policies of Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, Joe Biden, and Paul Ryan at the 2012 U.S. Presidential & Vice-Presidential Debate! After the debate you will VOTE for your favorite candidates! The debate will take place at 4:00 PM Monday, November 5th in the AUIS Cafeteria.
Application Programming Interface Tutorial
The Information Technology Department will host lecture by Dr. Abdul-Rahman Mawlood-Yunis on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 2:30 PM in A-G-04. He will speak about some preliminary effort towards building a comprehensive Application Programming Interface (API) for text processing written in Kurdish (Arabic) languages. Anyone interested in attending this event should contact hemin.latif@auis.edu.iq.
