Professor of Government and Politics

The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) seeks immediate applications for the full-time position of Professor of Government and Politics beginning in September 2012.

AUIS is an independent, non-profit university offering a comprehensive American-style liberal arts education to all qualified students regardless of affiliation or origin. Established in 2007 in the safe, welcoming Kurdistan Region of Iraq, AUIS is a student and teaching-focused university where small classes facilitate candid, open discussions. AUIS received accreditation in the United States in 2010 and moved to a new, 400-acre campus this year.

Job Qualifications: 

-  MA required, PhD preferred in Government/Politics from an American or Western  European university.
-  Evidence of outstanding teaching skills.
-  At least three years of teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
-  Native or near-native in spoken and written English.
